    James Johnson MD, AOM
    Chief Executive Officer

    Dr. Johnson graduated from the Medical College of Wisconsin in 1972 and completed his internship at the Presbyterian University of Pennsylvania Medical Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is Board Certified in Occupational Medicine, having obtained this certification in 1994 from the American Board of Occupational and Preventive Medicine.

    In 1991 he completed a mini-residency in Occupational and Preventive Medicine at the University of California in San Francisco, California. He has been certified as a Medical Review Officer since 1995. Occupational Medicine services were almost non-existent in Central Washington until Dr. Johnson developed a comprehensive program serving businesses and workers in 1990.

    He is the innovative thinker behind ANOVAWORKS. He developed the Best Practices of Occupational Medicine.  He participates uncompromisingly in the training of medical providers in the intricacies of this specialty. His goal is to provide workers and employers with a high level of medical expertise, commitment and service with a practice philosophy which “has the potential to change the world.”

    Dr. Johnson is the Medical Director, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Partner of ANOVAWORKS, PLLC.

     
  • Jody Underwood ARNP, COHN-S<br />

    Jody Underwood ARNP, COHN-S

    Jody graduated from Washington State University in 1992, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. She obtained her Master’s Degree from Gonzaga University in 1997.  Jody is nationally certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, and became a Certified Occupational Health Nurse - Specialist (COHN-S) in 2001. 

     
    Jody’s expertise lies in work-site injury and illness management, and emergency medical services. She has extensive experience interfacing with employers and employees. Jody also has experience as a nurse manager and nurse educator.  She has worked for seven years at a Department of Energy site at the Hanford Nuclear Reservation in Richland, Washington as the Occupational Medicine Department manager with extensive experience in putting regulations of 10 CFR 851 into practice.  She also has developed ANOVAWORK's Beryllium Surveillance Program.

     
  • Kelli Dilks ARNP, COHN-S<br />

    Kelli Dilks ARNP, COHN-S

    Kelli Dilks completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Washington State University in 1978 and Master’s Degree of Nursing from Gonzaga University. She was certified as a nurse practitioner by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners in 1996. She began working in Occupational Medicine in 1996 and continues to do so in formal clinic settings and in multiple on-site clinics. Ms. Dilks obtained Certification as an Occupational Health Nurse Specialist in 1999 through the American Board for Occupational Health Nurses.

    Kelli has expertise in developing and providing Occupational Medicine services in on-site employee health clinics and works extensively with case management.  She has provided occupational medicine services at a Department of Energy site in Richland, Washington.

     

     
  • Armando Capelo, RN

    Armando Capelo, RN

    Armando Capelo holds an extensive career in nursing, beginning in 1985 in Dallas, Texas.  He has worked in intensive care units, emergency departments, critical care units and as a flight nurse for flight ambulances.  He has served three years as nurse manager for Columbia Valley Community Health Clinic in Wenatchee, Washington.

    He joined ANOVAWORKS in 2006 and provides efficient, quality services in our Cholinesterase Screening Program, Influenza Vaccination Clinics and in our On-Site clinics.  He travels throughout central Washington State providing independent care to injured or ill employees.  He is active in the meshing of the ANOVAWORKS Production System with new clinical protocols and procedures.  Mr. Capelo is valued for his contributions to ANOVAWORKS for his leadership and management skills, emergency response skills and the depth of his nursing knowledge.

    He is fluent in Spanish.

     
  • Karen Nguyen, PA-C

    Karen Nguyen, PA-C

    Karen Nguyen, PA-C

    Ms. Nguyen is certified as a physician assistant, graduating in 2007.  She has worked in the health industry since 1998.  She functions independently at ANOVAWORKS at Kadlec and in several on-site, employer-based clinics.  She has an excellent understanding of the complexities of Occupational Medicine and is a skilled provider.

    In our clinic, she performs return to work examinations, medical surveillance, medical clearance for post-offer candidates, annual examinations and work-injury treatment.  She has performed hundreds of post-offer physical examinations for construction workers and “non-manual employees” in adherence with 10 CFR 851 for Bechtel National at the Hanford Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant.  At employer-based clinics, she treats injured workers and provides case management services.

    Ms. Nguyen is adept in discerning the needs of a company, developing work processes consistent in the ANOVAWORKS Production System, implementing these processes and refining them to produce the optimal service for our clients. 

    She is fluent in Vietnamese.

     
  • Bobby Linares, PA-C

    Bobby Linares, PA-C

    Bobby Linares graduated from Medex Northwest Physician Assistant Program through the University Of Washington School Of Medicine in 2005.  He received national certification through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. He is a recent graduate of Leadership Tri-Cities.

    Mr. Linares initially specialized in cardiac medicine, then transitioned into Occupational Medicine in 2008.  His background in cardiology is an asset when working in emergency cases.  He spent fourteen months providing Occupational Medicine services at the Hanford Tank Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant as the on-site manager of the clinic located in the vitrification construction site.  He was responsible for delivery of all clinical services, including emergency first response, work injury treatment, case management of worker’s compensation cases, medical surveillance, fitness for duty examinations and evaluation of personnel for annual and post-offer medical examinations in relation to job task analyses (10 CFR 851 requirements). 

    Mr. Linares’s experience in the management of a medical facility for Department of Energy (DOE) , contractors has cultivated and built strong working relationships with DOE personnel, contractor management, safety departments, unions and workers at the on-site clinic. 

    He is fluent in Spanish.

     
  • Paul Maiocco, PA-C

    Paul Maiocco, PA-C

    Paul Maiocco completed his bachelor’s degree as a Physician Assistant at MEDEX Northwest-Yakima from the University of Washington in 2000.  He also has a bachelor’s degree in paramedicine from Central Washington University and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Washington in Zoology.  He has four years of training experience as a field training officer for Shepard Ambulance in Seattle, Washington.  He has extensive experience in emergency medicine and urgent care working in both Las Vegas, Nevada and Seattle, Washington.

    In 2007 Mr. Maiocco joined AnovaWorks began a new career path in Occupational Medicine.  His role in the company combines both clinic management responsibilities and direct patient care.  He has also worked regularly at the Hanford Tank Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant in Richland, Washington performing annual physical examinations consistent with requirements of 10 CFR 851. He is knowledgeable regarding fitness for duty, medical surveillance, work-injury treatment and evaluating individuals for “fitness” regarding job task analyses.

    Robert S. Diaz, PA-C

    Mr. Diaz graduated from the University Of Washington School Of Medicine with a Bachelor’s Degree in Clinical Health Science and certificate of completion for the Physician’s Assistant program through MEDEX Northwest in 2001.  He is nationally certified as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. 

    He has been practicing in the healthcare setting for the past 12 years, including direct patient care, primary care, and pain management. Mr. Diaz works both at ANOVAWORKS at Kadlec and in employer-based on-site medical clinics.  Since 2007, he has performed hundreds of post-offer and annual physical examinations for construction workers and “non-manual employees” in adherence with 10 CFR 851 for Bechtel National at the Hanford Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant in Richland, Washington.  He also performs medical clearance based on findings of medical surveillance examinations.  He is skilled in case management, return to work determinations and treatment of injured employees.
